Timer relays and electronic timers

A digital timer relay is a timer built to switch a circuit: it closes or opens contacts after a set time, or on a schedule. An electronic timer is the general term for the same family. These are panel components, not household gadgets, and they are chosen by electricians and panel builders.

Astro timers

An astro timer calculates sunrise and sunset for its location and switches lights accordingly, so street, garden and signage lights follow the seasons without reprogramming. It is the same family as the light timer, applied to outdoor and street lighting.
